President, Principal Background Summary: Mr. Igo has over twenty-three years of experience in the consulting engineering field. He established DesignTech in partnership with Matthew Bowers in 2000. As a principal at the firm he is responsible for overseeing the operation of the company including business development, staff assignment and scheduling. Mr. Igo is involved in overseeing design, as well as quality control, for the mechanical, plumbing and fire suppression aspects of projects. His design experience includes a wide variety of projects and facility types including: commercial office, telecommunications, data centers, broadcast, educational facilities, laboratories, health care, multi unit residential complexes and light industrial facilities. Mr. Igo has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the consulting engineering business ranging from estimating, preparation of plans and specifications, project management and construction administration. For three years prior to forming DesignTech Mr. Igo was a principal at Encon Group responsible for overseeing the work of the mechanical engineers and designers at the firm. Prior to this Mr. Igo worked for seven years at SME Consulting Engineers. He entered the firm as a design engineer and rose to the position of mechanical department head. Earlier Mr. Igo worked for three years as a mechanical engineer at Shooshanian Engineers a 120-man firm in Boston Ma. He began his career as a mechanical designer at Energy Services and Management Corp. a full service design/build energy services company where he focused on energy driven building retrofit projects. Vice President, Principal Background Summary: Mr. Bowers has more than twenty-three years experience in the electrical engineering field. He is the Vice President and Chief Electrical Engineer for DesignTech. Mr. Bowers is responsible for overseeing the operation of the company including establishing budgets, setting policy, scheduling, overseeing electrical department, developing standards, and quality control. Prior to co-establishing DesignTech in 2000, Mr. Bowers was a partner at Encon Group from 1997 to 2000. He relocated from Boston in 1996 to join SME Consulting Engineers as an Electrical Engineer and Senior Project Manager and held that position until 1997. Mr. Bowers was a Project Manager at EUA Cogenex Corporation, an energy services company specializing in designing, installing and financing energy efficient mechanical and electrical system upgrades in major commercial and industrial facilities nationwide. As a Project Manager, Mr. Bowers was responsible for contract management, savings analysis and electrical systems design. From 1985 to 1993, he served as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Shooshanian Engineering Associates. He was responsible for all aspects of electrical engineering for new and renovated building construction projects from conceptual design, through construction supervision. Between 1981 and 1985, Mr. Bowers worked as a Senior Design at Edwin P. Mahard, Inc., an electrical consulting engineering firm in the Boston area. There, he designed lighting, power distribution and low voltage systems for major health care facilities, retail stores and shopping malls. He has expertise in the following areas: energy efficient systems design, design/build project management, commercial office space, specialized lighting systems, medium and low voltage power distribution, fire alarm systems, emergency generators, security systems, government facilities and health care facilities. Matt Bowers has provided project management, planning, design and construction administration, specializing in government facilities, health care facilities, high technology commercial buildings and educational institutions.
