NNMC Building 27

Project consisted of replacement of three central station VAV AHUs and associated return air fans with new VAV AHUs and return fans. The AHUs where equipped with variable frequency drives and new DDC controls. Replacement of existing pneumatic controls for existing VAV and Fan powered VAV units with new DDC controls. Replacement of six existing computer room AHUs serving data center.

Provide new chilled water system including new packaged air cooled chiller and associated chilled water pumps, DDC controls, make up water etc for a complete system to serve the data center. Design shall provide for cross connection from new chillers to main building chilled water system for dual chilled water service to data center. Replaced two existing water cooled chillers with two new water cooled chillers. Demolished existing plate and frame heat exchanger in the first floor mechanical room, replaced chilled and condenser water valves, strainers, expansion tanks and piping. Replaced two existing cooling towers with two new cooling towers.

Specified new DDC control system tailored for central Invensys Universal Controls to be incorporated into campus system. Provided book specifications compliant with AVFAC specifications.
