Tom Igo is a founding principal and president of DesignTech. He is a licensed mechanical engineer and has been working in the consulting engineering and construction field for more than 25 years years. At DesignTech Mr. Igo is responsible for management of the mechanical department performing technical design reviews on all projects. In addition, Mr. Igo acts as project manager for many projects and is responsible for business development and personnel management.

Project design experience includes extensive retrofit design work, as well as new construction of telecommunications projects, critical switching facilities, data centers, health care facilities, institutional work, college campus utility distribution systems, commercial office space, and light industrial buildings. He has maintained a continuous relationship with Verizon Communication for the past twenty years working on over 100 of their buildings. Other long term clients include, Fox Television, AT&T, and Sprint.

Prior to forming DesignTech, Mr. Igo was a Principal at EGI where he was responsible for overseeing the work of a team of engineers and designers. Prior to that Mr. Igo worked at SME Consulting Engineers, where he served as a Mechanical Department Manager.

Mr. Igo obtained his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in1983. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland.

Matt Bowers is a founding principal and vice president of DesignTech with over 30 years experience in design and project management for construction projects. He serves at DesignTech as manager of the electrical department performing technical design reviews on all projects. In addition, Mr. Bowers serves as project manager and electrical design engineer on selected projects. Other responsibilities include client relation, manpower resource allocation and financial management for the firm.

Project design experience includes mission critical facilities, healthcare, retail and commercial base building and interiors. Project management responsibilities include interdisciplinary coordination, client coordination and communication, and scheduling.

Mr. Bowers obtained his bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1985. He is a licensed professional engineer in 22 states and the District of Columbia and is a member of the NSPE, NCEES and NFPA.
